How to Save Time in Line |
Unfortunately all the popular Magic Kingdom rides and attractions also have the longest wait times and lines. There are some strategies to help utilize your time in the best manner. Disney Genie+ and also Disney Lightning Lane are two payed options that can get you into shorter lines. There is a great deal of information on both of these and I also answer the question “Is Disney Genie+ Worth it?“
After looking at this map of the Magic Kingdom, creating a touring plan for your park visit can seem daunting, but with a little planning and organization, you can make the most of your time at the park. Here are some tips to help you create a touring plan that will allow you to experience all that the Magic Kingdom has to offer:
- Research the park and its attractions. Before you start creating your plan, take some time to research the park and its attractions. Familiarize yourself with the different areas of the park and the rides and shows that are available. This will help you to prioritize which attractions you want to see and when.
- Consider the time of year you’re visiting. The Magic Kingdom can be very crowded during peak seasons, such as summer and holidays. If you’re visiting during a busy time, you may want to plan your visit around the park’s schedule of parades and fireworks shows, as these tend to be less crowded times.
- Utilize the Disney Genie+ system. Disney’s Genie+ system allows you to reserve times for certain attractions in advance, which can save you a lot of time in line. Be sure to plan your Genie+ reservations in the morning so that you can make the most of your time at the park.
- Arrive early. The Magic Kingdom opens early, so try to arrive as close to opening time as possible. This will give you a head start on the crowds and allow you to experience some of the attractions before the lines get too long.
- Plan your route. Once you’ve decided which attractions you want to see, plan your route through the park so that you can make the most of your time. Try to group similar attractions together and plan your route so that you’re not backtracking.
- Be flexible. While it’s important to have a plan, it’s also important to be flexible. Keep in mind that attractions may close temporarily for maintenance or that lines may be longer than expected. Be prepared to adjust your plan as needed.
