Frequently Asked Questions

How does Kids Sail Free work on Royal Caribbean?

On select Western Caribbean sailings, the third and fourth guests in your stateroom cruise at no base fare. This typically covers children 12 and under when traveling in the same cabin with two paying adults. Government taxes, port fees, and gratuities still apply for every guest. Your Pixie advisor will give you an all-in price quote — no surprises before you book.

Do I need a passport for a Western Caribbean cruise?

U.S. citizens on closed-loop sailings (departing and returning to the same U.S. port) can use an original birth certificate plus a government-issued ID. However, we strongly recommend a valid passport for every traveler — it protects you if you need to fly home from a port city. Your advisor will walk through all documentation requirements when you book.

What’s included in the cruise fare?

Your fare covers your stateroom, most onboard meals (main dining room, buffet, and casual venues), onboard entertainment (shows, pools, slides, rock climbing, FlowRider), and port stops. Specialty dining, drinks packages, shore excursions, and the spa are add-ons. For sailings over 5 nights, most families find the drink package worth it for adults.

How much spending money should we budget?

Plan roughly $100–$150 per adult per day for onboard extras (drinks, specialty dining, gratuities) and $50–$100 per person per port stop for excursions or beach clubs. Kids typically spend far less. We can help you pick the best-value shore excursions at Cozumel, Roatán, and Costa Maya based on your family’s interests.

Why book through Pixie Vacations instead of directly?

You pay the exact same price — Royal Caribbean doesn’t allow travel agents to undercut their rates. What you gain is a Presidents Circle–certified advisor (Royal Caribbean’s top agency tier) who knows these ships and itineraries firsthand, a pre-booking consultation to choose the right cabin, and a real person to call if anything goes sideways. No fees, no catches.
