If I had to pick just from my personal favorite and my kids favorite, it’s Beaches Turks & Caicos.  But hey, my kids love all of the Beaches Resorts and would be happy on a family vacation at any of the three Beaches Resorts.  I personally like Turks and Caico just because the resort is the largest, has the largest free water park.

Which Beaches Resort is Better In Jamaica

There are two Beaches Resorts in Jamaica:  Beaches Negril and Beaches Ocho Rios.  For the Beach itself Beaches Negril is on the famous 7 mile beach.  Yes there are vendors from Jamaica on this beach, but just nicely tell them you are not interested or feel free to purchase what they have.  Beaches Ocho Rios is located close to the tourist activities on Jamaica so that resort is great if you want to swim with the dolphins or see Dunns River Falls.  But overall I like Beaches Negril.  Beaches Negril just has a nicer resort layout, more updated rooms, and of course the famous 7 miles beach.

Beaches Ocho Rios is 1 hour and 45 minutes from Montego Bay (Closed May 31, 2025)

Beaches Negril is 1 hour and 30 minutes from Montego Bay (Can be longer with Montego Bay Traffic)

Both resorts come with free resort transfers to and from the resort.  The shuttle bus (van) also stops for a restroom break.  The thing to remember is that Beaches will schedule your shuttle well before your return home flight time.  Beaches wants you at the airport 3 hours before your flight departure.  So if you have an early return home flight, add 3 hours and then add the travel time.  That can make for a really early departure time from your hotel back home.

Are Beaches Resorts Good For Families?

The short answer is YES!  Beaches Resorts are designed for families and my kids always have an amazing time.  My kids love it so much it becomes difficult to book another family vacation because they always want to go back to Beaches.  If you are a couple, you might want to book Sandals Resorts instead.  Sandals Resorts are also owned by the same company and there are 18 Sandals Resorts all over the Caribbean.  Sandals Resorts have no kids.

If you want to go scuba diving, snorkeling, take our a sail boat, paddle boards, it’s all included.  Also the beach has a nice shallow entry and is crystal clear.  I know my kids like to see what’s swimming around them and Grace Bay is calm and the perfect family beach.

My number three favorite Beaches Resort is Beaches Ochi.  Why?  There are several reasons Beaches Ochi is a good fit for your family vacations.

First I ranked this Beaches Resort as #3 because I think the other two beaches resorts have nicer facilities.  Also this Beaches Resort is the longest drive from the airport in Jamaica.

Why I would select Beaches Ochi.

1. The staff here is fantastic.  Friendly and always happy.

2. Location.  This is the only Beaches resort located right next to all the major tourist attractions.  Swim with Dolphins, Dunns River Falls, etc are all right here.
