Disney paper cups full of magical memories

Steve Griswold, loves Disney so much he put it in a cup.  Well several Disney World paper cups to be exact.  A father of two girls that love princesses and everything Disney, Steve took his passion for Disney Parks to another level.

“I grew up going to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and could never get enough.  I started working at Walt Disney World on the Disney College Program and as a Disney castmember for many years.”  says Griswold

“I saw some amazing miniatures when I was on a recent trip to Paris, oddly enough the artist used toilet paper rolls to create miniature scenes of everyday life inside the rolls.  That inspired me to create scenes of what I love, Disney.”  With just some ordinary paper cups from the Magic Kingdom and a little creativity, Griswold has created some magical scenes.  “You would think getting a couple of free paper cups at Walt Disney World would be easy, but it was like they were made of gold as hard as they were to come by Griswold jokes.

To create these Disney cups of art Steve started with simple concepts and designs and then as his artistic skill advanced the artwork took on free form designs.  “I started with silhouettes and used an X-acto knife to create each piece of the scene.  When I put the designs together I try to tell a story inside each cup.  I also experimented with lighting and different exposures to get the shot perfect.”  Each cup of Disney memories takes several hours to complete.  The delicate paper art is skillfully placed in each cup just so to create these beautiful scenes.

Disney’s Jungle Book and Cinderella are the first two pieces of paper cup art Steve has released.
