Aulani is located on the west shore of Oahu, approximately 20 miles (30 minutes) from Pearl Harbor and the airport and 30 minutes from Waikiki and all her adventures. Set in the Koalina Marina guests will experience mountain and ocean views as well as one and a half miles of white sand beaches. Across the street is Koline, an 18-hole golf course. Koalini will host many water based activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving and sunset dinner cruises (just to name a few).
Aulani is 20 acres, has four themed pools and the only private salt water snorkeling in Oahu. There are 359 guest rooms, 75% contain queen sized beds and will accommodate up to 4 guests. There are a select number of rooms that can accommodate 5 guests and 25% will contain both a King sized and Queen sized sleeper. The interior is furnished in an authentic Hawaiian style using ancient artifacts as inspiration. Over half of the guest rooms offer at least partial oceanview!
The 18,000 square foot spa area will offer something for everyone. Unlike the spa’s at Walt Disney World Resorts and Disney Cruise Line, the littlest members of your family can be pampered with a trip to the hair salon or receive a manicure, pedicure or other spa treatments. There is a separate, private spa (Painted Sky) that is teens only. Laniwai (the spa) will feature a range of hydrotherapy treatments in a garden setting. Create a custom scrub for your treatment from the natural botanicals surrounding the spa. Guests can enjoy a mineral bath and volcanic mud as well. Day passes for portions of the spa will be available for purchase (think the rainforest room on Disney’s cruise ships) however here’s a valuable tip! If you purchase any one hour spa treatment, the hydro treatment areas are available to you for that day at no additional cost!
All 5,200 square feet of Aunties Beach House will provide Disney quality kids programs with base level experiences at no extra cost. Premium experiences are available for an additional cost. There are different activities for different age groups including 0-2, 3-10, 11-13 and 14-17 year olds.
There are so many activities offered at Aulani I don’t know where to begin! All the experiences offered within the Koalina Marina are exclusive to Aulani guests only. Only guests can enjoy the water slides, four pools, menehune bridge (a splash adventure for the little ones) and makai preserve (a conservation station with reservations only sting-ray experiences).
One-third of the Aulani resort is made up of the Waikolohe Valley which contains all the water activities. Guests can learn to surf, snorkel, scuba, paddleboard, take Yoga classes on the beach, experience a beach boot camp or run a fitness 5K. There are character experiences, live shows nightly, story telling around the fire-pit, 150 Hawaiian excursions to chose from (some exclusive to Aulani guests and some not). Experience Native Hawaiian art, Hula dancing, Ukelele lessons, star-gazing/navigating activities, and Sun-Set ceremonial celebrations. Don’t forget about movie nights under the stars and the pool games!
The second signature dining experience is Makahiki-which will offers a series of buffets throughout the day (including Aunty’s Breakfast Celebration with your favorite characters) and serve dinner at night. The Oleo room hosts continental breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails, off the hook is the other lounge.
