We just returned from our seven day Disney cruise line trip. If you have not been on a Disney Cruise, you need to reward yourself with one. We have been on ten cruises, all different cruise lines and have to say our Disney cruise was the best.

Why take a Disney Cruise?

For this post I will cover some highlights of our Disney Magic Cruise Ship, and our cabin. Watch for future posts for more information on our Disney Cruise Vacation.

If you have been to any of the Disney parks or resorts you already know about Disney’s exceptional level of service. That level of service is what you will find on a Disney Cruise.

Overall Ship:

The ship is beautiful. I will post photos for everyone on facebook.
The ships are elegant like a classic ocean liner, not like other cruise lines that can be over the top gaudy like a Vegas casino. There are also the Disney touches you would except, like hidden Mickeys and other characters worked into the décor in subtle ways.

The ship also has Disney Artwork, sculptures, and Disney themed areas for the kids, while also offering adult only areas.

I will go into dining in another post but will tell you that you get to eat in different restaurants, but keep your same wait staff which is great. You get the variety of the dining restaurants which is very nice. The service is also excellent and was beyond our expectations.

The ship offers several pools. A family pool area with a massive outdoor jumbo TV which runs Disney Shows and Movies. We had fun swimming while watching movies and also at night just sitting under the stars watching TV while on our lounge chairs.

The kid’s pool is shaped like Mickey Mouse of course and our four year old had a blast. There is also a yellow Mickey Slide that ends up in this pool area. Disney also has a splash pool right here which allowed us to watch our four year old and also play with or four month old in the splash pool. The splash pool is more of a play area with fountains and colorful water charters that spray water.

There is also an adults only area / pool which is very nice and relaxing. There is a café located next to the adult pool and also the spa.

I also must say that I did not feel like I was on a kid cruise. I felt like I was on any other cruise I had been on, but with added benefits for the kids.

Cabins:

The cabins on a Disney Cruise are very nice. We had an Ocean View Cabin on deck 2. We found the rooms to be larger than other cruise lines we have traveled on. Also the bathrooms are much better that other cruise lines. On the Disney Magic we had two bathrooms each with its own door. One bathroom had the toilet and a sink. The other bathroom had a tub / shower and a sink. This is great for getting ready for formal night, the beach, etc. Other cruise ships everyone is trying to cram into one small bathroom to get ready. There was room for a crib and also there was a dunk bed that our room steward setup for us every night. That is nice because it stores away during the day.

The cabins also have a nice size flat panel TV, and with it being Disney the movie and show selection is great. We did not watch dedicated TV in the room but it is nice when getting ready in the morning or before going to bed. Also you have lots of choices if you are in the room while your kids are taking a nap.
