Getting to Disneyland Paris via the Metro from Paris
Watch the Disneyland Paris Metro Video
I have traveled over to Paris to see all the wonderful romantic sites, well actual I am here to see Disneyland Paris (DLPR). Yes, I know how can you pass up the Louve, the Eiffel Tower and all that Paris has to offer. Well I come to Paris often so I wanted a different experience this time.
I am staying in Paris. I have a hotel across from the Louve and very close to the 1 Metro line. This is very covenant for getting just about anyplace in and around Paris.
Getting to Disneyland Paris
The easiest and best way to get to Disneyland Paris if by train. The RER A train to be exact. There are many stops in Paris and you can catch the metro to an RER A station.
For me Opera is about a 10 minute walk away and there is an RER A stop there.
Ticket Costs
My travel time from Opera to Disneyland Paris was 40 minutes door to door.
You will need an RER billet (ticket) to catch the train. The cost is 6.80 Euros one way. I purchased a round trip ticket (2 tickets) for just under 14 Euros. So there is no discount for a round trip.
The regular metro tickets will not work for the RER. The RER is a different zone so you must get the RER ticket.
Once you are on the RER about 4-5 stops later you will be in the countryside. So it is an enjoyable ride.
It’s public transportation so I did have to walk around a few people sleeping in the metro station when I was there at 7:30 AM. So I would either go with a group of people or not so early on a weekend.
It is also important that you take the train going in the correct direction when going to DLPR. DLPR is the last stop, so coming back to Paris, you can not accidentally go the wrong way.
Also, you must KEEP your Ticket. You will need the same ticket to exit the station at Disneyland. The turnstiles at the station will not open to let you out, unless you enter your RER ticket. Also from time to time someone may check that you have a valid RER ticket at one of the stations when you go to exit.
When you arrive at the DLPR station you are literally at the gates to the park. To the right is Disney Village, and to your left is Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios. Everything is within walking distance.
So it is possible to stay in Paris and enjoy a day or two over at Disneyland Paris.
