I often get asked, what are the countries in Epcot?

Being known as the only place where you can travel the whole world in a day, World Showcase in EPCOT provides an incredible chance to drink, eat, shop, and find unique entertainment inspired by the many different cultures of the world. Here is what you can expect on your next worldwide adventure!

Port of Entry

Before you depart on your worldwide adventure, you can stock up on souvenirs at the Port of Entry stores and learn about different things that the world showcase has to offer. Speaking of which, here are a few things you can do throughout the world showcase (for free):

Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure

Guests with the MyDisneyExperience app can save the world with the Ducktales gang with Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure –  an interactive mobile game that takes guests through a scavenger-hunt-style experience in each country in World Showcase. World Showcase veterans will notice that this is the third variation of this game, starting with Kim Possible and then Phineas and Ferb before becoming Ducktales. In fact, when the game first started, Disney provided flip phones!

KidCot

The boat dock at Port of Entry.

For younger world travelers, Disney offers the KidCot activity program, which allows kids to visit a representative of each country and learn more while receiving a fun souvenir. Guests can also purchase a world showcase passport kit to do the experience, but it is not required.

Boat Transport

Not feeling like making the entire worldly trip yourself? You can cut that travel time in half by using the complimentary boat shuttle provided at Port of Entry, offering non-stop trips between POE and the Morocco Pavilion.

Mexico

Starting off to the left of the world showcase loop (as many would call the correct way to go) is the Mexico Pavillion, featuring a wide array of cultural shopping, dining, and even an attraction. Outside of the pyramid, you will find:

La Cantina de San Angel

Just steps over the bridge to the right is La Cantina de San Angel, the main counter-service restaurant in Mexico, serving a mix of cultural dishes including Tacos, Empanadas, and more. One of my favorite items to get when visiting this stand is the Nachos ($14.75), which provides a hefty portion of chips, beef, cheese, and all the fixings that can easily feed two people or more depending on how hungry you are.

Pro Tip – This quick-service restaurant has limited seating options nearby, so get there early if you want to get close seating! Additional seating options can be found around the Odyssey Center (during festivals) or in the nearby La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant when it is not open.

La Hacienda de San Angel

Next door to La Cantina de San Angel is its table service sister, which provides a more culturally authentic experience with excellent views of the world showcase lagoon. Boasting freshly made corn tortillas, an on-site tequila ambassador, and a wide range of dishes, it is a great option for those who are looking for a casual dining option on the waterfront. Dishes range from $29 – $72.

Choza de Margarita

Sitting right over the bridge on the left across from La Cantina de San Angel is a popular first stop for anyone embarking on a drinking-around-the-world adventure. Known well for its frozen margaritas, it is a great place to get a drink or try some of the small plates on hand such as their tacos or empanadas.

Pro Tip – Given the popularity of the location, be prepared to make this location one of your first stops during your world showcase adventure (or at least be prepared for a decent line when you are ready).

Stepping inside the large pyramid that is the centerpiece of the pavilion, guests can find a large array of shopping with items ranging from Mexican novelties to art pieces, jewelry, and more. Additionally, shopping and entertainment can be found within, including:

The centerpiece of the “Remember Me! La Celebración Del Dia de Muertos” exhibit.

Remember Me! La Celebración Del Dia de Muertos

As soon as you step inside the pyramid you are greeted by a celebration of the day of the dead, featuring the characters of the hit Disney-Pixar movie Coco. This exhibit features facts and historic pieces all about the famous holiday and even allows guests to see themselves as a character from the world of Coco via a digital mirror experience.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

Next to the San Angel Inn, guests will find a charming slow boat ride featuring the Three Caballeros – Jose, Panchito, and Donald Duck as they go on an adventure throughout Mexico. This boat ride is perfect for all ages and does not usually have a long wait except during peak times of the year.

La Cava del Tequila

The interior section of the Mexico Pavilion overlooking the shops & San Angel Inn restaurant.

Nestled on the right side of the interior sits this quaint bar, serving cocktails, beer, wine, and of course Tequila. For those who like to have a snack while they enjoy a drink, light snacks are offered as well. This location is also home to the La Cava Experience, which provides a guided tequila-tasting experience with an expert.

San Angel Inn

In the back of the pavilion sits the San Angel Inn restaurant, which provides the most authentic Mexican cuisine at EPCOT. It is known for its more intimate setting and candlelit dining – making it perfect for a romantic evening. Meal pricing ranges from $15 – $35 per adult, making this restaurant the cheaper of the two table-service dining options at the Mexico pavilion.

Norway

Known well for the attraction housed in this pavilion, Norway brings a fair amount of entertainment value to the table for guests of all ages. In this pavilion, you can find:

The Royal Sommerhus

The courtyard of the Royal Sommerhus Meet and Greet.

At this charming summer home fit for royalty, guests can meet Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen.

Gods of the Vikings

For those interested in Norwegian history, this exhibit provides a great look into the history of ancient Nordic gods and legends. Plus, it’s a great way to escape the Florida sun for even just a few minutes.

Frozen Ever After

The centerpiece of the pavilion, guests can board a boat and journey to Elsa’s castle for a musical adventure through the world of Frozen. Featuring both forward and backward drops, this ride certainly packs a wetter punch than some might expect – so it should come as no surprise that you can be warned that you MAY get wet!

The entrance of Frozen Ever After.

Pro Tip – For those looking for a drier experience, try to sit in the center of the row as much as possible. Most of the water gets into the boat via backsplash off the side walls, especially in the final scenes.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Featured as one of the only character dining experiences in Epcot and the only one in World Showcase, this dining experience allows guests to meet some royalty in the form of Disney Princesses while enjoying classic Nordic cuisine. This restaurant is also open for all three meals, making it a great way to start or end your day.

The menu is offered on a prix fixe menu as follows:

Breakfast – $55 / adult & $35 / child

Lunch and Dinner – $67 / adult & $43 / child

Norway is also home to a few stores featuring native brands as well as Disney & Frozen-inspired merchandise, as well as a cafe featuring Nordic pastries.

China

The China Pavillion is what I like to consider a “Hot-Day Pavillion”, as it provides guests with a lot of ways to explore and learn

Reflections of China at EPCOT’s World Showcase

about the culture of the country while still being able to escape the weather outside, including a massive store and some other offerings:

Reflections of China (Show)

One of the two circle-vison shows in World Showcase, guests are taken through a wondrous journey around China during this 12-minute presentation that surrounds you.

Shanghai Disney Exhibit

Next to Reflections of China sits the Shanghai Disney Exhibit, showcasing the creation and attractions of Disney’s Shanghai resort. It’s perfect for those who are interested in parks globally, or just want to take in a quiet atmosphere away from the hustle of the park outside.

The Shanghai Disney Exhibit Interior.

Lotus Blossom Cafe

Located next to the Nine Dragons restaurant, guests can find a counter-service restaurant serving classic Chinese dishes. While it may not be as good as the sit-down restaurant next door, it is a great way to get a meal relatively quick while in this area of the World Showcase.

Nine Dragons Restaurant

The main dining option in this pavilion, Nine Dragons provides an exceptional dining experience featuring Chinese cuisine sure to satisfy any taste. This is one of my personal favorite table-service dining options at EPCOT, so definitely make sure to give this one a try on your next visit. Meal pricing ranges from $15 – $35 per adult.

Refreshment Outpost / Africa

On your way to the Germany pavilion, you’ll pass by this small pavilion representing the cultures of Africa. Here you can shop at various merchandise stands both featuring independent artists and Disney merchandise, as well as get a quick bite or drink at the Refreshment Outpost stand to the left when walking from China.

Germany

Another essential stop for those drinking or eating around the world, the Germany pavilion provides a great place to do everything from eat, drink, and even buy an ornament of a pickle. Some honorable mentions include:

The Germany Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.

Karamell-Küche

Ask anyone with a sweet tooth at EPCOT and they will recommend this as one of their first stops to get a sweet treat in World Showcase. Featuring caramel creations of all kinds – from cookies, pastries, you name it – it is sure to delight. Personally, I am in love with the Strawberry Caramel Butter Bar, and you can pick one up for less than $6.

Pro Tip – Mobile order is available at this location, so definitely take advantage of it! The line is often long to order items here so this is a great way to save time while still being able to pick up a delectable treat.

Biergarten & Sommerfest

A Strawberry Caramel Butter Bar from Karamell-Küche.

In the back of the Germany Pavillion sits two restaurants to satisfy a German craving – Biergarten and Sommerfest. To the left is Biergarten, offering buffet-style German cuisine at family-style tables while lively polka entertainment plays on. This buffet currently is priced at $49 per adult and $27 per child. On the other hand to the right you have Sommerfest, offering many of the same items as Biergarten but as a quick-service option.

For those looking to just enjoy a German beer, you can find two grab-and-go options – One inside the pavilion to the right (under the green awning) and one along the pathway on the side facing the waterfront. Both offer similar options and are great for those who want a drink on the go.

Italy

The Italy Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.

Known for its two signature restaurants in the back of the pavilion, Italy is a wonderful spot to find some great eats or some interesting souvenirs, such as hand-painted masks or perfume.

Tutto Italia

To the left past the shops, you will find Tutto Italia, which promises authentic Italian cooking in an intimate setting. This restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating and is another restaurant perfect for romantic nights. Meal pricing ranges from $15 – $35 per adult.

Nearby to Tutto Italia is the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, a bar offering more than 200 wines, as well as beer and small plates.

Via Napoli

Known well for its signature pizza, you will find Via Napoli in the back of the pavilion. Here you will find a menu that caters to the whole family and is perfect for those family dinners in a welcoming atmosphere. Meal pricing ranges from $15 – $35 per adult.

America

Congratulations! We’ve now made it halfway around the world showcase – meaning we’ve made it to EPCOT’s own home country of America. Under the facade of Independence Hall, guests can find unique food, galleries, and entertainment.

The American Adventure

Inside Independence Hall is the American Adventure Show, a unique experience featuring a recap of American history told on

Regal Eagle Smokehouse at World Showcase.

massive screens and using 35 audio-animatronic figures. Unlike other media presentations in World Showcase, this show is not shown continuously, but instead at set times throughout the day. You can find these times posted outside of the theater or on the MyDisneyExperience app.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse

Next to the American Adventure inside Independence Hall is one of the biggest counter-service options in World Showcase, sure to satisfy BBQ fans. Themed to a BBQ competition held by none other than Sam Eagle himself, this restaurant features several BBQ dishes based on American staples with a Disney twist. You can order either via the Mobile Order system or at the counter at the restaurant.

Additionally, you can find an outside bar featuring several specialty cocktails and mocktails – including the famous Moonshine Sour!

American Gardens Theater

The signage in front of the American Gardens Theater.

Across the path from Independence Hall sits the American Gardens Theater, an outdoor theater famous for its concerts held throughout the year as part of Epcot’s festival lineup, as well as the Candlelight Processional show held every holiday season.

You can find the lineup for upcoming concerts and shows held at the American Gardens Theater on Disney’s website or the MyDisneyExperience app.

Japan

Home to one of the largest stores in World Showcase as well as a number of dining establishments, the Japan pavilion is an incredible spot to spend the evening or find incredible gifts for those interested in Japanese culture.

Mitsukoshi

Mitsukoshi Store in the Japan Pavilion.

The centerpiece of the pavilion, Mitsukoshi offers every kind of Japanese merchandise you can think of. While I usually don’t mention stores by name in the World Showcase, this one is one-of-its-kind. On top of a large merchandise selection, this store also features an upcharge “Pick a Pearl” experience as well as a small exhibit about Kawaii culture in Japan.

Fun Fact – When EPCOT was being designed, the backside of the pavilion was intended to be a carousel of progress-style ride called “Meet the World”. While the attraction ended up being canceled, you can still see a resemblance at the back entrance where there are two doors designed as a standby and fastpass entrance – as well as a sign over the door that says “Meet the World” in Japanese.

Restaurants & Bars

If you are a lover of Japanese Cuisine, then this pavilion is the place for you. Here you will find three table-service restaurants: Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, and Takumi-Tei, as well as the counter-service restaurant Katsura Grill.

A waterfront view of the Japan Pavilion.

Note: Katsura Grill is known to not have great food, and my personal opinion is to skip this restaurant. You will find better quick options at the Japan stall that is open for most EPCOT festivals.

You will also find a couple of drinking options in this pavilion, such as a small bar located across from Mitsukoshi. I am a huge fan of the Tokyo Sunset, but there is a whole list of cocktails for you to try.

Pro Tip – Japan offers some of the best lagoon viewing for the nightly fireworks performance. Make sure to get there early to get a spot!

Morocco

Often overlooked by many World Showcase travelers, the Morocco Pavilion still has some offerings for guests to enjoy. While many of the shops that the pavilion once had are now closed, guests can find exhibits and a couple of shops still about, as well as a couple of food options.

The Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.

Tangerine Cafe

Located near the central path to the right of the pavilion lies Tangerine Cafe, a small counter-service option serving Moroccan cuisine, such as their well-known grilled kabobs.

Spice Road Table

Across from Tangerine Cafe sits Spice Road Table, the pavilion’s table-service option known for its Mediterranean flare while offering great views of the fireworks on the lagoon.

France

The France Pavilion has become arguably one of the most popular pavilions at Epcot in recent years – and it’s for good reason. Housing the second major attraction in the World Showcase, this pavilion has gone from a simple pass-through to a mini-destination in its own right.

The entrance to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Nestled behind the original pavilion in an expansion area, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride attraction that takes guests into the world of Ratatouille via adorable rat-themed ride vehicles.

Pro Tip – While this attraction has both standby and lightning lane access, both lines can get very long throughout the day. Make sure to get there early!

La Crêperie de Paris

Nearby Remi’s Ratatouille Adventure sits the new restaurant of La Creperie de Paris, offering a variety of crepes (both savory and sweet) for guests to enjoy. One really neat factor of this restaurant is that it is a table/counter service hybrid, offering either the option to dine in the restaurant or get your favorites to go from an outside counter-service window.

Impressions de France / Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along

The central courtyard of the France Pavilion – Include Chefs de France & The Film Presentations.

In the center of the pavilion sits the theater housing Impressions de France and the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along.

Impressions de France is an 18-minute film celebrating the culture of France and is a classic film that has been housed at the France pavilion for several years.

The Beauty and the Beast Sing Along – the newer option between the new, is a 15-minute film featuring classic songs from t

he hit film Beauty and the Beast.

Both shows are offered daily and often rotate. You can find out which show is performing next by viewing the information boards located outside of the theater.

Chefs de France / Monsieur Paul

One of the first things you notice when entering the pavilion is the charming Chefs de France restaurant, featuring French cuisine and modern favorites. Meal pricing ranges from $15 – $35 per adult.

Above Chefs is the more upscale Monsieur Paul, offering great views of the World Showcase as well as a special “gastronomic” menu with a spin on French food. Brace yourself – this prix-fixe menu will cost you almost $200 a person!

L’Artisan des Glaces & Boulangerie Pâtisserie

On the left side of the pavilion past Monsieur Paul sits another batch of great experiences for foodies, this time in the form

L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion.

of L’Artisan des Glaces and Boulangerie Pâtisserie.

To the left before the gift shop at the end of the alley, you will find L’Artisan des Glaces, a French ice cream shop offering several sweet treats – including the famous Brioche Ice Cream Sandwich which recently went viral for its uniqueness and great taste.

When you enter the gift shop at the end, that’s where you will find Boulangerie Pâtisserie, a French food court of sorts offering all kinds of French cuisine.

Pro Tip – Whether you are getting a sweet treat or a quick lunch, make sure to get to the French pavilion EARLY! Both options in this area get crowded quickly and you may encounter a long wait if you arrive mid-day.

International Gateway

While not a pavilion, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the International Gateway or Epcot’s second gate. Here, you can exit the park and get transported to Epcot-area resorts via Boat or Skyliner or get some last-minute gifts at “World Traveler”. In fact, guests can leave the park, get lunch, or simply sightsee at the Boardwalk & Yacht and Beach Club resorts, then hop back in.

The waterfront promenade near International Gateway.

Pro Tip – When walking towards International Gateway before crossing the second bridge, you’ll notice a promenade on

the waterfront. When not being used for private events, this area provides an incredible fireworks viewing area!

Fun Fact – When you are crossing the bridge between France & England – You are symbolically crossing the “English Channel” – Because just like the actual channel, you are crossing the waterway separating France and England!

England

On your final stretch of the World Showcase, you’ll find the quaint England pavilion, featuring several small shops featuring everything from British Memorabilia to Twinings tea. Additionally, you will find a very popular drinking spot as well.

Rose & Crown Pub in the England Pavilion.

Rose & Crown Pub

That popular spot in question is the Rose & Crown Pub, a waterfront restaurant featuring both a dedicated bar as well a dining room. While it has a small menu, it is great for those looking to indulge in fish n’ chips or other British staples. Speaking of Fish n’ Chips, those looking to get them quick and be on their way can do just that via the counter-service stand located right next to Rose & Crown.

Canada

On your final or first stop in the World Showcase (depending on your starting preference) you’ll find the Canada pavilion. Offering a gift shop, a film-based attraction, and in my opinion the best restaurant in World Showcase, it offers a couple of hidden gems while many overlook them.

Le Cellier Restaurant

The Canada pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase.

Nestled in an intimate, cellar-style setting is Le Cellier – a steakhouse restaurant offering incredible dishes including some staple items. Any Epcot fan will tell you that the cheddar & bacon soup, poutine, or steaks are to die for, and it sure should be on your Epcot bucket list if you can go.

Canada Far & Wide

Near Le Cellier is Canada Far & Wide, a 12-minute film presented in 360, much like the film presented in the China Pavilion.

Congratulations! You just completed your worldwide adventure in the World Showcase. As you can probably tell, there is much to find in this worldly adventure, so make sure to keep your eyes open – you’ll never know what you’ll discover. Happy travels!
