Walt Disney World has confirmed that the perk returns for arrivals on select dates in summer 2027, and the brand-new Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge was added to the eligible hotel list. How the Free Disney Water Park Day Works

When you stay at an eligible Disney Resorts Collection hotel on select dates in summer 2027, your check-in day includes admission to one of Walt Disney World’s two water parks. You do not need to buy a separate ticket. These are the details that matter most:
- Check-in day only. The benefit is good on the day you check in and cannot be moved to another day of your trip.
- Your choice of water park. Visit either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, depending on which is open.
- Registered guests only. Everyone who wants to use it must be listed as an overnight guest on the Resort reservation, so review your travel party before you arrive.
- No room needed yet. If you don’t need to store luggage, you can go straight to the water park, even before you check in to your hotel.
- Easy entry. Use your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World Card at the gate.
- Free parking. If you drive, complimentary parking is available at the Disney water parks on a first-come, first-served basis.
What about dates? Walt Disney World says the benefit applies to select dates in summer 2027 and has not yet published the exact range. For reference, the 2026 version covered check-ins from May 26 to September 8.
Which Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Qualify?

The perk is open to registered guests at Disney Resorts Collection hotels. That includes Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Deluxe Villa resorts, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and the new Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. There are two things to know before you book:
- The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are excluded. This is new for 2027. Guests staying in the Cabins still qualify.
- Hotels that are not Disney Resorts Collection hotels do not qualify. A hotel can be close to Disney World and still not be on the eligible list, so confirm before you book.

Water parks can close for weather, capacity, or rehabilitation, so Disney recommends checking the water park calendar shortly before your check-in date.
Tips to Make the Most of Your Free Disney Water Park Arrival Day

- Arrive as early as you can. Since the perk only works on check-in day, arriving early means more time in the water. Check water park hours before you travel. Also, your chosen water park may reach capacity, so arriving early is best.
- Pack a small day bag. Swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, water shoes, and a change of clothes are a good start. The water parks have changing areas with showers.
- Use Bell Services for luggage. Luggage is not allowed in the water parks or on Disney buses. Your resort’s bell services can hold your bags and deliver them to your room later.
- Rent a locker for small items. Each water park has keyless lockers available for a one-time charge.
- Leave the life jackets and towels at home. Complimentary life jackets are available for all water park guests, and Disney Resort hotel guests can get complimentary towel rentals with their MagicBand, Key to the World Card, or MagicMobile service.
- Have a weather backup. Full-day closures show on the park calendar at least a day ahead, but temporary closures can happen with little notice. Your resort pool is a great Plan B. Also, if the water park closes due to rain, you MAY be able to get a free water park day later in your stay at a Walt Disney Resort hotel. We have been able to do this. However, your experience may vary.
- Double-check your travel party. Add any missing guests to your reservation online or by phone before you arrive.

Disney’s newest resort opens July 1, 2027, on the shores of Bay Lake with 967 rooms. It celebrates stories inspired by nature, including Bambi, Pocahontas, Encanto and Brother Bear, and guests can ride a water taxi to Magic Kingdom and catch the Electrical Water Pageant. Disney just confirmed that Lakeshore Lodge guests will be eligible for the water park benefit, and the resort is already open for booking.
Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours
Disney confirms that Early Theme Park Entry continues through 2027. Resort guests can enter any of the four theme parks 30 minutes before opening, including on check-in and check-out days. Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas can also enjoy Extended Evening Hours on select nights in select parks. In the Florida summer, a cooler morning head start is a real advantage.
Planning Perks That Help in Peak Season

Disney Resort guests can book dining reservations up to 60 days before arrival for their entire stay (up to 10 nights), and buy Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days before their trip instead of 3. Complimentary bus, boat, and monorail transportation, plus the Disney Skyliner at select resorts, makes getting around easier, and resort guests get complimentary standard parking at the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.
Savings on Kids’ Dining
For 2027 travel, families who purchase a package that includes a dining plan can save up to 20% on dining for kids ages 3 to 9, compared with the non-discounted price of kids’ menu items. Savings vary based on what you order.
Monstropolis and Tropical Americas Are Coming in 2027

Disney has confirmed that Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom are both set to open in 2027. The first phase of Monstropolis includes the Welcome to Monstropolis show at the Glob Theater, Harryhausen’s, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, and the Scareporium shop, with the suspended door coaster arriving later. Walt Disney World has not announced opening dates for either project, so we cannot promise they will be open during your summer trip. Since the water park benefit is tied to your check-in day, a split stay with a second Disney Resort check-in may give you another chance to use it.
