The short answer: Beaches resorts are one of the best multi-generational vacation options in the Caribbean because they genuinely have something for every age group — kids’ camps with Sesame Street for the little ones, waterparks and activities for tweens and teens, spa and relaxation for adults, and the all-inclusive format means nobody’s fighting over restaurant bills or activity costs. Grandparents, parents, and grandkids all vacation on their own terms but come together for meals, beach time, and making memories.
Multi-generational trips are one of the fastest-growing segments we see at Pixie Vacations, and Beaches is consistently our top recommendation for families bringing grandparents along. Here’s why it works so well.
Why Beaches Works for Multi-Gen Trips
Everyone Gets Their Own Vacation
The #1 challenge with multi-generational travel is that grandparents, parents, and kids all want different things. Grandpa wants to read on the beach. Mom and Dad want a date night. The 7-year-old wants the waterpark. The teenager wants to be left alone with WiFi.
At Beaches, all of this happens simultaneously without anyone compromising. The kids go to Camp Sesame. The parents get the pool or spa. Grandparents enjoy a quiet beach with a cocktail. Then everyone comes together for dinner at one of the resort’s 10+ restaurants. Nobody has to sacrifice their ideal day for someone else’s.
The All-Inclusive Format Eliminates Money Awkwardness
One of the most underappreciated benefits of an all-inclusive for multi-gen trips: there’s no bill-splitting. No awkward “who’s paying for dinner?” conversations. No grandparent insisting they’ll cover everything while parents feel guilty. Once the rooms are booked and paid for, everything on resort — meals, drinks, activities, kids’ camp — is included. Everyone eats and drinks what they want without thinking about cost.
Flexible Room Configurations
Beaches offers room types that work for larger family groups, from standard rooms for grandparents to multi-bedroom suites for families with kids. At Beaches Turks & Caicos, the different villages (Italian, French, Caribbean, Key West, and the new Treasure Beach) let you book rooms in the same area so everyone is close but has their own private space.

What Each Generation Gets at Beaches
| Generation | What They’ll Love | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Grandparents (60+) | Quiet beach areas, Red Lane Spa, fine dining restaurants, leisurely pool time, watching grandkids at the waterpark without having to go on the slides | Book a room in a quieter village (Italian Village at Beaches TCI is perfect) so they have a peaceful retreat |
| Parents (30s-50s) | Kids’ camp gives them adult time, date night dinners while kids are in supervised evening activities, water sports, spa treatments | Use the included kids’ camp during the day and book a private nanny for 1-2 evenings for couple time |
| Kids (3-10) | Camp Sesame, Sesame Street character breakfasts, waterpark, beach treasure hunts, pool games | Register for kids’ camp on arrival day so activities start the next morning |
| Tweens (11-13) | Scratch DJ Academy, Xbox lounge, beach Olympics, making friends with other tweens | Give them some independence — the resort is safe and the tween programs are supervised |
| Teens (14-17) | Water sports, teen nightclub, spa access (with parent consent), WiFi, independence | Let them set their own schedule but pick one family dinner each evening where everyone comes together |
Best Beaches Resort for Multi-Generational Trips
Beaches Turks & Caicos — The Top Pick
Why it’s best for multi-gen: It’s the largest Beaches property with 5 distinct villages, the most restaurant options (21 restaurants), the biggest waterpark in the Caribbean (Pirates Island), and enough space that everyone can find their own corner. The village system is perfect for multi-gen — book grandparents in Italian Village (quieter, more elegant), parents and young kids in Caribbean Village (closest to the waterpark and kids’ camp), and teens in Key West Village (most social vibe).

Beaches Negril — The Intimate Alternative
Why it works: Smaller and more intimate than Beaches TCI, Negril is better for families who want everyone closer together rather than spread across a large resort. The famous Seven Mile Beach is right out front. Fewer restaurants and activities than TCI, but the more compact layout means grandparents never feel far from the grandkids.

Tips for Planning a Multi-Gen Beaches Trip
Use a travel advisor to coordinate group bookings. When you’re booking 3-5+ rooms for an extended family, coordinating dates, room types, and pricing gets complicated fast. At Pixie Vacations, we set up group booking pages where each family unit can book their preferred room at the group rate. We handle all the coordination so you don’t play travel agent for your entire family.
Book rooms near each other, not next to each other. Same village, different floors or buildings. Close enough to meet up easily, far enough that everyone has privacy. Grandparents especially appreciate not hearing the kids through the walls at 6 AM.
Designate one group dinner per day. Let everyone do their own thing for breakfast and lunch, but pick one restaurant each evening where the whole family eats together. This gives structure without over-scheduling.
Let grandparents set their own pace. The beauty of Beaches is that participation is optional. If Grandma wants to skip the waterpark and read by the pool all day, that’s a perfect vacation for her. Don’t force group activities on people who came to relax.
Consider travel insurance for the older generation. Multi-gen trips involve more people and more logistics. Travel insurance that covers cancellation and medical emergencies is especially worth it when grandparents are part of the group.
