For many years, we’ve been thrilled to host high school graduation celebrations at Walt Disney World known as Grad Nite. We want to make sure you are aware of an important update we made earlier today; we will no longer be hosting Disney Grad Nite at the Walt Disney World Resort after this year’s event. Disney Grad Nite 2011 at Walt Disney World will be held as planned. Future Grad Nite’s at Disneyland Resort will continue as normal – there are no plans to change the existing offering at that resort.
With more leisure guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the springtime, it’s become challenging to schedule special events during April and May. We’ve recently seen more and more students visiting Walt Disney World as part of a broader senior class trip at various times throughout the year.
As we look to 2012, our National Accounts Team is excited to work with you and your groups to provide teens the flexibility to celebrate their achievements in ways that are meaningful and at times that are more convenient. We will continue to offer Disney Youth Tickets which are a discounted offering for those groups that are interested in visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Disney Youth Tickets are perfect for senior class trips and the Disney Youth Programs team can arrange customized experiences, including specialty merchandise, food and beverage options and on-site accommodations for school groups coming from any state.
We recognize that Grad Nite has become a rite of passage for high school seniors and are proud to have hosted this special event at Walt Disney World Resort for 39 years.
