By Olivia Drake, Pixie Vacations travel agent and former Disney Cast Member, with a real quote built by Pixie agent Megan Granger.
AI has been a go-to for all things Disney World: graphics, videos, and even vacation packages and budgeting strategies. But does it actually work better than a Disney Travel Agent?
Alright, so you’ve decided you and your family will be visiting Disney World in Florida. You go online for tips and tricks to find out the best deals, which hotel to stay at, or even if your favorite ride from when you were a child is still there. But the first page of your Google results tells a different story: somehow, planning a Disney trip in this day and age has turned into rocket science.
Your next step might be to use your favorite AI platform to find the best deals and do all the hard work for you, but since AI platforms always have that disclaimer that you should double check to make sure the correct information is provided, is it really doing all the hard work for you?
Before you type in your request to Gemini or ChatGPT, let’s do a comparison between AI and an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner to see which option will give you the correct information and save you the most money. Authorized Disney Vacation Planners, such as Pixie Vacations, are verified by Disney Parks and provide 100% free quotes directly from Disney World, as well as the experience and vacation support that AI can’t.
The Comparison
Megan Granger, an agent at Pixie Vacations, generously gave her time and effort to craft a personalized quote for the comparison in this article. Please give her a follow on Facebook and Instagram as she posts great deals as well as helpful tips and tricks.
Also, for purposes of this comparison, we will be using Google Gemini since it was recommended as the best AI vacation planning option according to Tom’s Guide.
Please note, however, this was one prompt, one agent, and one AI tool, so your results may vary. This quote was made on or around October 24, 2026 and may not reflect accurate numbers by the time of publishing.
For both Megan and Gemini, the comparison began with the same prompt:
Price – AI vs. Travel Agent
Here’s what each had to say about price:
- Disney’s Art of Animation Family Suite: $3,000 total
- Disney’s All-Star Movies/Pop Century: $2,500–$2,800 total
- 5-day base tickets for 2 adults, 3 kids: ~$3,200–$3,600 total (not including Lightning Lanes or Park Hoppers)
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Preferred Location (great views, close to transportation): $5,437.14 with savings
- Disney’s Art of Animation Family Suite: $6,376.10 with savings
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Deluxe Studio, landscape or parking lot view: $7,349.64 with savings, or water view: $8,716.52 without savings

The real differences are that Megan’s quote covers a 4-day ticket rather than Gemini’s 5-day estimate, and that it’s a bookable quote with current Disney savings, while Gemini’s is an estimate from a third-party site. Keep in mind that Megan’s price can change until the deposit is made. But with that being said, while Gemini’s quote for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort may seem like a steal, it doesn’t include ticket prices. So with that grand total, it’s actually around the same price as Megan’s full quote.
Another major difference is that Megan’s quotes are pulled directly from Disney in a number that’s easy to understand. Gemini just gives an estimate for how much it thinks ticket prices will cost. Given that ticket prices are already available through 2027, it’s a little confusing.
In addition, Gemini quoted Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Pop Century Resort together, even though they are two completely separate properties.
Itineraries – AI vs. Travel Agent
When it comes to the full itinerary, this is where the largest difference comes in. Megan makes it clear in her email that, once the family has decided where to stay, Disney requires a $200 deposit that is made directly to Disney, not to Megan. Once that deposit is made, then she begins her process of helping with the itinerary.
“For my Disney clients, my support doesn’t end once their vacation is booked. I want families to feel prepared and confident before they even arrive, so they can spend less time worrying about the details and more time enjoying their vacation together,” said Megan.
Gemini, on the other hand, starts making recommendations immediately. However, these are only recommendations. Gemini does not and cannot make the bookings for you.
That being said, in Gemini’s defense, it uses information from verified websites like Undercover Tourist. However, things like entertainment offerings and other important information should be double checked. Based on the same prompt above, here’s part of Gemini’s response:
Star Wars (Hollywood Studios): Head straight to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Your kids can experience Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (height requirement is 38”, so all three kids can likely ride) and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (height requirement is 40” — check your 5-year-old’s height, but 7 and 9 should be good to go!). You can also build lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop or droids at the Droid Depot if budget allows, though these are pricey add-ons.
Frozen & Encanto (EPCOT & Magic Kingdom):
EPCOT: Head to the Norway pavilion for Frozen Ever After and keep an eye out for character sightings. EPCOT is also great for general strolls and features the “Heartbeat of Freedom” 4th of July tag on the lagoon.
Magic Kingdom: The absolute epicenter of the 4th of July, featuring Disney’s Celebrate America! massive fireworks show. While Encanto doesn’t have its own dedicated ride yet, look for Mirabel greeting guests in the Magic Kingdom.
For example, there’s a special Encanto themed show called “¡Celebración Encanto!” at the new CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT that Gemini doesn’t mention.

Megan, however, goes above and beyond for her clients at no additional cost.
These include general information about the parks they’ll be visiting, along with personalized tips tailored to each family’s dynamics, including their children’s ages and individual interests. As their trip gets closer, I send additional guidance to help them prepare for key planning milestones, such as making dining reservations 60 days before arrival, along with personalized dining recommendations, must-try snacks, and tips for booking and using Lightning Lane passes.
A few weeks before their trip, I also schedule a phone call to walk them through the My Disney Experience app, review how to navigate Lightning Lane reservations, and answer any last-minute questions they may have. My goal is to help take the guesswork out of planning so families can arrive feeling prepared, make the most of their time, and focus on what matters most: making magical memories together rather than feeling overwhelmed by all the details!”

Whether you go with Megan or another Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, the process is about the same.
At a Glance: Gemini vs. a Pixie Vacations Agent
| Gemini | Megan (Pixie agent) | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Estimate from third-party info | Bookable quote pulled from Disney |
| Tickets | Guessed separately | Included, with Park Hopper |
| Disney savings | Missed | Applied to the quote |
| Books the trip | No | Yes ($200 deposit paid to Disney) |
| Itinerary help | Instant ideas that need fact-checking | Tips from 120 days out, dining help at 60 days, a pre-trip app call |
| Cost to you | Free | No additional cost |
And the Winner Is…
Gemini and other AI tools make decent suggestions, but fact-checking them adds work to a process that’s already complicated. Gemini missed current Disney savings and an Encanto show at EPCOT, so it still needed double-checking.
An Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, like Megan, will offer that unique first-hand experience that you’re looking for, and at no additional cost to you. You pay Disney directly, and Disney pays the agent’s commission.
As Heather Adams of WDW Magazine put it: “So, take that AI advice with a grain of salt.”
